What is Dermaplane?
Dermaplaning is an exfoliation service that involves a medical grade blade that removed dead skin cell buildup and vellus hair (peach fuzz) that allows for better penetration of products and reveals youthful, glowing skin. This service is not painful at all and requires zero down time.
What is a Chemical Peel?
The name sounds scarier than it is. There are many different types of chemical peels, but to keep things from being confusing, our esthetician Katerina will choose the best peel for your needs/desired results. Chemical peels are a skin treatment that removes the top layers of skin with a chemical solution to improve skin texture and tone. The new skin that grows back is smoother and healthier, and can help with a variety of skin concerns, including:
-
Skin impurities: Chemical peels can help with skin impurities
-
Wrinkles and fine lines: Chemical peels can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
-
Acne: Chemical peels can help with acne.
-
Uneven skin tone: Chemical peels can improve uneven skin tone.
-
Scars: Chemical peels can help improve the appearance of scars.
-
Hyperpigmentation: Chemical peels can help with hyperpigmentation.
Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, and hands. The type of chemical used and the depth of the peel determine the results. There are three types of chemical peels:
-
Superficial peels: Use mild acids to gently exfoliate
-
Medium peels: Use trichloroacetic or glycolic acid to reach the middle and outer layer of skin
-
Deep peels: Fully penetrate the middle layer of the skin
Deeper peels provide more dramatic results but take longer to recover from.
Gentle peels have little to no recover time.
